Secret oasis on Söderåsen

Finnstorp
On the southern slopes of Söderåsen lies the Finnstorp recreation area, an easily accessible area and popular excursion destination since the turn of the last century. Here you will encounter varied nature with rolling beech forest slopes, planted spruce forest and two water lily ponds created in an old alder marsh. Hike on marked hiking trails for shorter tours.
Do and experience
Hike & walk
Finnstorp's recreation area is perfect for shorter walks and hikes on four different hiking trails. For example, walk the Gröna gånden 2.7 km, which is slightly hilly where one part goes right through a green deciduous forest tunnel and also past the Askehallarna. On Håkans väg 2.4 km you walk both on a forest road and pass a rippling watercourse. See digital map further down or download map brochure.

More about Finnstorp
Excursion destinations with ancient origins
Finnstorp is a walking area with ancient origins. Already at the beginning of the last century, people came by horse and cart to drink coffee in the café next to the pond. The land was owned by two brothers, who ran the cafe and who also lived on the farm in the area. The original farm is on maps as early as the 1780s and was located at the end of Gröna gånden. The farm was destroyed by fire in 1926 and the ruins are still here. The new farm was built on the current site by the Fiskedammen. The farm and land were sold by the brothers to the current owner Cavalli's donation in 1958, which is managed by us at Stiftelsen Skånska Landskap.
Rock to rest against
At the beginning of the 20th century when the café was open, it was almost mandatory to go and sit on the Tostastenen. The hollow in the boulder is made for a moment of comfortable rest. For many years, the stone was difficult to find in the middle of a spruce plantation, but can be reached today from the path Håkans väg where you take a detour to the stone.

Good to know
With wheelchair and baby stroller in nature
A shorter path of approximately 100 m on solid hard ground leads to the Fiskedammen bridge and to a rest area where you can fish or just enjoy the water lily pond. Next to the pond is a large barbecue house under roof. The area is certified by Equality.
